The Frederick Arts Council has an annual arts in education fund from which it awards matching grants to schools and other educational entities. The purpose of these grants is to enable teachers and program specialists to enhance their arts curricula by drawing upon the talents of artists and arts organizations in our community.
Educators typically use these funds to engage teaching artists or to underwrite arts-related field trips. Prospective applicants should feel free to contact us for teaching artist information or recommendations.
Schools and other educational institutions in Frederick County are eligible for Arts in Education grants. Schools may submit up to two grants each academic year; the maximum amount of each grant is typically $500 and must be matched 1:1. Grants are accepted on a rolling basis until the annual budget has been exhausted. It is strongly encouraged that grant applications be submitted at least 30 days prior to the planned arts activity.
