Frederick, MD – The Frederick Arts Council (FAC) is proud to announce the launch of its new FAC record label, Good People, expanding its commitment to supporting, promoting, and creating opportunities for artists across Frederick County. The label will officially launch on October 30, 2026, with the release of two songs by local Frederick artist Libby Knight, available on vinyl and across major streaming platforms.
Libby Knight is a 14-year-old singer-songwriter born and raised in Frederick, Maryland, whose music is soulful, honest, and unafraid to explore life’s challenges. A self-taught piano player, Libby writes songs about the complicated reality of human relationships.
The debut will feature Knight’s songs “Someone So Bad” and “Bows,” marking an exciting new chapter in FAC’s ongoing work to support the creative community and provide artists with opportunities to share their work with broader audiences. The songs will be available digitally on October 30, with a vinyl release also contributing to the launch of the new label.
The release will coincide with a special performance by Libby Knight at Sky Stage, 59 South Carroll St., on October 30th. Local Hip-Hop artist Retro/Ricole will MC the event. Audiences will be able to experience the exciting FAC record label artist live as the debut officially begins. FAC’s Sky Stage continues to serve as a platform for original music and emerging and established artists throughout the creative community.
“The launch of the FAC record label builds upon the Council’s longstanding commitment to investing in artists and strengthening Frederick’s creative economy,” said Louise Kennelly, executive director of the Frederick Arts Council. Through grants, artist opportunities, public art initiatives, performances, exhibitions, and community partnerships, FAC works to ensure that artists have the resources and platforms they need to create and share their work.
The label is just one of the many projects FAC has undertaken for local artists during its 50th Anniversary year. For five decades, the Frederick Arts Council has advocated for the arts and helped cultivate the vibrant creative community.
