The Frederick Arts Council is seeking artists to design and decorate existing carousel figures. Sales from auctioned carousel figures will be split by the designing artist and FAC (50/50) during FAC’s fall event Cocktails and Carousels on September 24th in Downtown Frederick.
Applications are accepted via SlideRoom through June 6th, 11:59p. Artists will be notified of their acceptance by June 14th. Accepted artists are responsible for picking up their figure from FAC for production and then return to the FAC promotional event location at an arranged date. Artist teams are invited to apply.
Consider becoming a sponsor of Frederick’s newest pop-up public art display and benefit with carousel horses uniquely designed to highlight the Frederick Arts Council’s mission to advance the arts in Frederick. The Carousel Horses on Parade will feature life-size carousel horse statues, each decorated by selected artists. The horses will be led to a garden at 7th Sister Restaurant, 228 N. Market St, Frederick, MD, for public viewing leading up to the event. This initiative will culminate with a fall fundraiser, Cocktails and Carousels, on September 24th from 5:30-8:30p at 7th Sister where the horses will be auctioned off to their forever homes.
