FREDERICK ARTS COUNCIL WILL HOST ONLINE JERSEY AUCTION IN LIEU OF ANNUAL ART IN THE PARK EVENT
Frederick, MD – The Frederick Arts Council will hold its annual Art in the Park Keys Jersey auction virtually this year and bidding is now open.
The FAC is altering its annual Art in the Park plans for 2020 in light of COVID-19-related cancellations. Though the much-loved event cannot take place in person this year, at a Frederick Keys baseball game, a local artist has still designed a limited-edition jersey, which is available for purchase via an online auction. All proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit arts programming in Frederick County through the Frederick Arts Council.
The jersey auction is currently live online, and bidding will continue until Friday, September 4th at 9 pm. 24 jerseys are available featuring the different numbers of the Keys baseball team players. This may be the last chance for fans to get a Keys jersey.
Art in the Park is an annual event, in its 14th year, which brings together sports fans and art aficionados. This year’s jersey is designed by local graphic artist Matt Long.
“FAC is pleased to offer a favorite component of Art in the Park virtually,” said Louise Kennelly, Executive Director of the Frederick Arts Council. “We’re excited about Matt’s colorful design and we’re happy the community will be able to enjoy the jerseys as well.”
