Super Art Fight Returns to Frederick

October 4, 2011

After a sell-out crowd in the Spring, Super Art Fight is returning to Frederick for a one-night live event on Saturday, October 8th.  Best described as a punk-rock mixture of Pictionary and Pro-Wrestling, their shows always leave audiences breathless and wanting more.  Super Art Fight’s performance will be held at the Cultural Arts Center in downtown Frederick.

Self described as the “Greatest Live Art Competition in the Known Universe,” Super Art Fight has been making their name up and down the east coast since June 2008.  The group regularly has matches in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. and has had engagements in Connecticut and New York, among others.

The Baltimore-based group of artists will invade the Cultural Arts Center with a full-bout card, presenting the same artistic antics which have made them a cult favorite around the globe.  As extra added excitement, the March event held court with the first ever six-person tag team smackdown with three of the Super Art Fight All-Stars accepting the challenge thrown down take on Frederick’s own Art Alchemy Circle, featuring local artists Colin Smallwood, Tom Kemp and Shane Acuff.  The card this time around will showcase four bouts.

Artist scheduled to appear include Super Art Fight Champion Michael “Spaghetti Kiss” Bracco, Super Art Fight Tag Champions Kelsey “Killer” Wailes and Nick “Ghostfreehood” Borkowicz, and Darl “Apocalypse” Gnau.  Team IMPACT! will also be participating, which includes co-founder Jami “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi, Chris “Impact” Impink, and Bryan “Silent But Violent” Prindiville.  The event will be co-hosted by Marty Day and Ross Nover.

The Cultural Arts Center is located in downtown Frederick at 15 W. Patrick Street.  The facility is managed by the Frederick Arts Council, whose mission is to be the primary catalyst and advocate for arts opportunities in Frederick County.  Tickets for the 8:00 p.m. show are $10 and available by phone at 301-662-4190.  Advance ticket purchase is suggested, as this event is may sell out again.  For more information about the group, visit www.superartfight.com.
