Black Box Theater
The Black Box Theater is a flexible performance space that can easily accomodate a wide variety of events and performances, such as theatrical productions, dance concerts, music recitals, movie showings, photo shoots, spoken word performances, workshops, lectures, seminars, and more. performance area is approximately 950 sq ft and is typically configured in a thrust stage arrangement. The Black Box Theater can accomodate between 100 – 130 in the audience, depending on the configuration.
The Black Box Theater has a basic stage lighting system and sound system. Both systems are described below.
Stage lighting system
o 22 2.4k channels with stage-pin circuit strips
o Lightronics dimmer board (24 channel, 2 scene)
o Lighting grid- 4’x4’ within pole area, 8’x8’ elsewhere
o Lighting instruments:
• 10, 6×9 ellipsoidals
• 6, 3.5 ellipsoidals
• 6 scoops
• 10 fresnels
• 4 strip lights
Please Note: the theater lighting is configured to a house plot that can accommodate most events. Additional fees are incurred by any group that moves the lighting from the house plot.
Sound System
o 12 Channel mixing board with amplifier and 2 speakers
o 5 disk CD player
o Dual cassette player

• Black draping to create wing space
• Dressing room area
• Tech booth
• Box Office, Lobby, and Concessions area
Additional equipment available with all rentals:
• 150 black folding chairs
• 20 six foot rectangular tables
• 6, four foot round tables

• Portable sound system
• 2 speakers
• 2 speaker stands
• 2 corded microphones
• 2 microphone stands
• 1 table top microphone stand
• 1 up right studio piano
• LCD projector
• Portable projector screen
• Podium
• 6, 4’X8’X1’ platforms
• Black Marley-style dance floor
