Artomatic@Frederick Registration Opens Aug.1

One of the largest artistic endeavors ever undertaken in Frederick will happen this fall. Artomatic@Frederick, presented in partnership with the Frederick Arts Council and Frederick County Public Schools, will transform the former FCPS Central Office on Church Street into a temporary art space. The event is expected to feature over 500 artists in five weeks. The space will open to the public on Wednesday, September 28th and run through Sunday, November 6th.
Artomatic@Frederick is an independently organized and licensed Artomatic® event headed by volunteers. The program is designed to create community, generate an audience for the arts and expand economic development. All this is done by transforming available space into an unjuried venue featuring the creative works of hundreds of artists over the timeframe. The 27,000 square foot facility will host a multitude of art forms, including the visual arts, theater, music, film, poetry, and more.
Artomatic@Frederick events are socially organic and completely open-entry. There are no juries or curators as one of the goals is to provide open access to the arts for all participants and visitors. Emerging and established artists from throughout the region present their work side by side and the artists, organizations and visitors come together to illustrate the energy, vitality and strength of the arts to impact the community.
Registration will open for interested artists beginning August 1st and exhibit space will be available on a first-come, first-service. Artists must pay a $100 participation fee and agree to fifteen hours of volunteer service over the course of the event. Registration will be handled online. Tours of the facility have been taking place throughout the month of July and remaining tours are scheduled for July 29-30.

Organizers anticipate 10,000 to 15,000 people to visit the space over the five week period. For more information, visit www.artomaticfrederick.org.
