Easels In Frederick Quick Draw Contest & Artist Market
Saturday, June 21, 2014
9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Calling all artists: Join the fun!

Easels in Frederick is a juried plein-air painting event organized and run by an all-volunteer committee. It is designed to promote the creation and sale of high-quality art amid the rich, historic charm of downtown Frederick and the surrounding countryside.

The Quick Draw Contest, conducted on Saturday morning, June 21, is an exciting opportunity to apply your talent and have fun at the same time. It’s also a chance to compete for $1,500 in cash prizes – and perhaps sell your work right off your easel! Registered artists can set up anywhere within the designated boundaries of downtown Frederick and will have two hours to transform blank canvases into things of beauty. At the completion of the contest, all artwork will be displayed and judged side-by-side in Memorial Park.

Professional and amateur artists ages 18 and better are invited to register and pay the $15 fee online no later than 9PM, Thursday, June 19, and then check in 8-9:30 a.m. the day of the contest. For artists who applied but were not juried into Easels in Frederick, there is no cost, but you must still register and check in Saturday morning.

Under 18? Sign up for Youth Quick Draw by contacting YPW@easelsinfrederick.org. Completed Youth Quick Draw artwork will also be displayed side-by-side at the Art Market in Memorial Park.
